Bobcat Nutritional Backpack Project - backpacks of food sent home on weekends and holidays for kids identified district-wide who are in need
School Supplies Project - school supply packs are put together for students in need and given on the first day of school
Red Ribbon Week - (Say NO to Drugs Campaign) - week full of events to encourage students to make wise, healthy choices
Boxes of Hope Food Drive - food and other items are collected to give to families in conjunction with the Hallsville Area Angel Tree Project
Hallsville Coats for Kids - coats are collected, dry cleaned by McLendon's Cleaners in Hallsville, sorted and given out to families in need in our community
Pennies From Heaven- money is collected at each campus and used to help sponsor angels on the Hallsville Area Angel Tree
Hallsville Area Angel Tree Project - families are identified and matched to sponsors...three gifts are given to each "angel"
Junior Achievement - community volunteers present 5 lessons teaching our 2nd graders about "Our Community"...these lessons serve as the government/economic lessons they need for the year!  Wonderful information!
Prom Boutique Project - HISD partnered with Longview Zonta to provide dresses, jewelry, and other items to girls wanting to attend the school prom but needing a little assistance
Staff Appreciation Week - the volunteers of HISD realize that it takes our entire staff to make our school run efficiently and effectively, so we like to plan a week of food, fun and fellowship for the entire staff...it is always in May when National Teachers' Day is celebrated.  For 2009, we took them on a "Cruise Around the World"!
